This section takes the form of steps. At the bottom step is a group of people symbolising the problem of Apartheid.

One step up is a man in battle dress whose face is a mask of blind obedience. He stands facing a Slavic woman weighed down by the burden of her many duties and obligations, symbolised by a heavy helmet. She is on a ramp, ready but as yet unable to stand up for herself, but with an "s" for solidarity at the side of her head to indicate hope for the future.

macht ohnmacht

A free man (the artist himself) stands before the "memorial" of Chernobyl, which symbolises the power that technological progress has obtained over mankind.

Further along we meet Jacques Offenbach, a great composer whose immortal power is expressed in the gusto of his music. The power of the Offenbach muse is to help the weak to conquer despair in all its forms.

Finally this exploration of contrasts ends with the age-old conflict between man and woman, a portrayal of power and weakness in the battle of the sexes.
